nehalem or e8400?

I want to upgrade my mobo and cpu. Do you think that I should hold out for the nehalems, or should I go with an e8400? Or should I wait till the nehalems come out so that the e8400 is cheaper and get the e8400?

I want to be able to achieve a decent, stable overclock.

Also what mobo would you recommend? Nehalem compatable mobos arent out yet though, are they? So what would you recommend for the e8400? I'd like to try and stay under $400. Under $300 would be awesome, but probably isn't very likely.

wait until nehalem is out, if you find it to your likings, get it, if not, the e8400+motherboard will be much cheaper
 
Can't you just get that motherboard and when the update comes out, flash your bios so that it will work with the nehalem? or is it more complicated than that?

Nehalems come with a completely different soicket. LGA1366 or something like that I believe...
 
yeah the extreme nehalem comes 1366 and the lower two are like 1166 or something close to that
