are they DL or dvd5...oh you said dvd 9 , right so that is DL.
What make is your dvd burner, I went through the same I bought an IO MAGIC which is made by BTC, they sell them under other names at staples ...etc ...they are junk...lots of posts on the internet also about the same...boought a BENQ at newegg for $37 , works great...may not be your burner if you say a nothr program is using it ?

eh?

wel u see
i enter a dvd goes through the hol process of make ur own dvd n stuff then it gets to transcoding it, and jus as it gets an 1/8th of the way there it stops suddenly and says a runtime error...could it b the speed it is burning it at or sumfin else?
pleas guys a reallly need your help

It sounds as though the DVD is protected and that's why you're getting the error. You should run DVD Decrypter or ANYDVD and then try to copy

Dont use nero to do any form of encoding, transcoding or otherwise... it's crap (hell i tried to make a guide for it and it kept crapping out on me :P)

First I would like to say that there are a lot of DVD burners out there that are junk. I would like to retract my earlier statement about the BENQ DQ60 that I purchesed , it was junk. The benq dw1640 is excellent. I got an rma and the dq60 is going back to hell were it came from. I purchased an LG GSA 4167b , not a coaster yet. Nero is a good program for burning either DVDs or CDs. All depends what you are burning ( movie, data...etc ), what type of burner, what media , what format DVD9, DVD5. If it is movies try DVD DECRYPTOR....It's freeware and excellent.
