.NET Framework 3.5

I recently installed .net framework 3.5 sp1 on a dell inspiron 9400. The system seems to run fine but I can't get my dvd player to work. I did a driver update but it says I have the latest. The dvd is a Sony DW-Q58A. Is it possible this update is not compatible with the dvd?

The NET Framework wouldn't even effect dvd playback being for a totally different thing there. That's something intended more for web applications and used for checking for updates with various softwares like antivirus and even video cards as well as a virtual platform for applications written for it.

If the drive itself simply hasn't gone belly up on you try uninstalling the listing for it in the device manager and restarting the system to allow Windows to redetect the drive and reinstall the drivers for it. This would be one step if you are running XP there.
