netbook reaally slowing down

OK, so I've been using my netbook for about a year (I think) without having any major issues. Then recently, out of nowhere, it started acting up, really slowing down, even hanging on a few instances. I checked task manager and I saw that the CPU usage would spike up to about 85-99 percent at times, and physical memory usage would remain at about 80-90 percent for the most part. I think that is why the computer is running really slowly. But why? I haven't done anything major to it. All of a sudden it just became that way.

Help?

It's Windows 7 starter by the way.

That is a very large number of processes. The system's probably getting bogged down. However, before doing a tremendous amount of software work, try testing the hardware. Particularly test the hard drive (download Seatools and boot to a CD, or make a Hirens flash drive).

If it all looks good, maybe run msconfig and disable startup files and see if the performance increases substantially. I'd just go through and gradually re-enable items you know you need (say AV related components) and confirm they don't bog the system down again.

These IP addresses are located in Virginia and I can see that you are located in California. If you don't reconize these, then you need to get rid of them.

It may help to run malwarebytes on your system as well and post the log.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here or here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Please keep updating until it says you have the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • A log will be saved automatically which you can access by clicking on the Logs tab within Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Ok, I see a lot of major issues in your hijackthis log now that I've actually had a chance to go through it. You have way too many security programs running causing issues. I need you to post an uninstall list using hijackthis. Open hijackthis, click on open misc tools section, click on open uninstall manager, click on save list and save it. Then copy and paste the log back here.

To start off getting rid of unnecessary stuff running on bootup rerun hijackthis and place checks next to the following entries.

and according to your hijackthis log you have comodo geek buddy installed which doesn't show up in your uninstall list. Unless its hidden app that best buy put in under their pc ap.

You need to have only one installed on your computer at any given time. You need to choose which one to keep and uninstall the others.

So pick one and uninstall the others along with the Best Buy pc app as you don't need it. If you paid for trend micro then keep that one and uninstall the others.

After uninstallation then post a fresh hijackthis log. I will be out most of the day so will reply later today.
