With this unit plugged into my Dell computer I cannot access the internet . . . there's no communiaction between my computer and the router in another room. However, if I unplug the adapter, wait a few seconds, and plug the adapter back into my computer I get connected to the internet rightaway. I'm afraid I'm going to wear out the USB connector on my computer doing this. Can anyone tell me what can be done.
P.S. . . .I'm not a computer literate person.
 
If you're worried about wearing out, you can get USB extension cables, hubs, and such.

As for the actual problem, I'd try new drivers. They should be available off Netgear's website.
