Netscape anyone?

I use netscape, and I hate it. It's a piece of crap with good concepts. (like the sidebar, having both IE and Firefox rendering cores, etc.) But other than that, it's crap, and I only use it because I'm used to it.

How come i dont see anybody here suggest to use netscape for a browser?
I've used Netscape 7.x Suite since it was introduced and I can count on one hand how many times it's crashed on me, and I use it daily. I tried version 8 and didn't like it, so I went back to 7.2. I like the stability, and I never have a problem rendering a page. The integrated email client works fine, too.

I'm amazed that so many people still use IE.

Netscap was good up until about version 4.5. What was the next one, 6? Didn't they just basically skip 5 :P

If you want something like Netscape, go with Mozilla. I probably should try that over Firefox, considering the issues I've had recently...

I've never used it before but I like the sound that it has both Trident AND Gecko rendering engines.

May have to try it some time...

BTW, because it has both I don't really see how its gonna be able to display files as the renders (gecko) and ALSO use trident?

Are they saying it has the speed of Trident but also uses Gecko rendering scripts to bring up the page as it renders:)?

Probably because no one really uses Netscape as a standard. It's still mainly Internet Explorer, and in second is Mozilla. Netscapes new upgrades and such are fine and dandy, but their overall product just isn't really all that great. The only great thing I like about it is that, as said above, it has both IE and FF's engine.
