Hi there. New to the forum and hoping for some tips on setting up my network.
I'm basically wanting to extend a wireless broadband network by using 2 access points as a bridge.
My main broadband wifi router is set to 192.168.1.1
Then I have an AP set in client mode (AP1) with IP 192.168.1.2
Then I have a 15m cable connecting to another AP (AP2) which is in AP mode with IP: 192.168.1.3
Computers can connect to the second AP ok, but there is no internet (local only connection). However if I disconnect the second AP and connect the cable straight into the laptop, it works fine, internet and all!
I'm pretty sure my problem here is wrong IP set up, but I can't work out what I need to do to make it all work. I'll try to draw the system below.
Any ideas? Should I try to make it all dynamic IP?
System diagram: }}=wireless; ---=wired
