Network Adapter Issue

Hi guys, I have an Asus xb83v running an Intel core 2 duo t6400.
-My issue is that I will randomly lose network connection, during that time I am by all means connected to the internet according to the network and sharing center but cannot access the web. The only way to regain connection is to reset my wirless adapter up to 4 times till it works and the new connection can last anywhere from 2 minutes to a couple hours if Im lucky. I dont know if its a power setting issue that causes it to shut off temporarily or what but it is extremely frustrating and any imput would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2wire wireless G router by the way which I dont beleive to be the problem since I have multiple computers, none of which have this problem.

Thanks for any light you can shed on this subject.

Which OS are you running?

Also, have you ever tried to ping a known IP address in the console when this occurs?

Hey,

do you get disconnected or the yellow exclamation point on your network icon?

I also have a 2wire modem/router but it was acting up and I've since replaced, but also use an external d-link n router now!

I used to have problems like yours on my laptop, but not on my desktop--it seemed to only be the wifi which was being sketchy--wired was always fine!
