Hello Computer Forum Users,

I have 4 computers that i use for video post production. 2 main editing computers and 2 authroing computers, each with their own indivdual HDDs.
When we finish editing a project we encode it and save it to the machine before logging onto the authoing computer to drag it accross to do dvd menus etc.

If we had a NAS for example could i export my encodes to that and access the files for dvd menus from that.

Would this mak things quicker in the long run do you think.

you are saying you want to save the encodes on the local machine and then drag them to the nas? or work with and save them directly on the nas? either way it shouldn't matter. The only drawbacka are the speed of your network if you're working from the nas, and the type and speed of the HD's in the nas itself. And even if you run into issues, you could always map a drive to a folder on the nas.
