I have run into a problem.. in wireless network properties on the association tab, I'm sapposed to set the network authentication to WPA-PSK and the data encryption to TKIP but on my other PC it only has options: open or shared for network authentication and WEP or Disabled for data encryption... do i need to download a driver or somthing?

Have you tried any of those options to see if the internet works, try them, you will not break anything if they do not work. :-)

What LAN controller do you have, if you are unsure, what motherboard, if you are not sure about that, what computer do you have if pre-built?

well it worked before, then i fomated my hddd cuz a virus... deleting all the settings, i didnt have the cd to my wireless card so i was givin some drivers from a friend and they work but thats my only prob..

Since you formatted you HDD, SP2 may not be on your system. You'll need to get SP2 or update 815485 for WPA to work.

What model is your network adapter, and how old is it, if you used the drivers that came with you computer, you'll probably need to update the drivers.

I built this computer so it doesn't have a product number, I took it out and it is a D-link air plus XtremeG H/W Ver.:A2 F/W Ver.:2.23 so what drivers do I need to get it working?

Is that all I need? because i dl it and restarted my comp, but it still shows the found new hardware window and its not working properly either
