Hey,
I'm having a problem with a Windows XP client i've recently setup. The file transfer rate to files stored on a Windows Server 2003 file server is appauling (Note: The same computer running Windows 7 RC1 has no problems, so must be something to do with the config).
The client is connected via 100mbps ethernet to the server and the network utilization only shows about 60-70% which "jumps" up and down to even lower numbers. I've tested the transfer on large files (~10GB), like I did on the Windows 7 OS with no other network traffic.
Additionally, the network traffic monitor i'm using (ntop) reports a peak throughput of 44.9 Mbit/s - no where near the 100mbps.
Any way I can improve this?
Thanks,
Tom
