Networking 2 computers?

Right, So I know that you can network together using a router and two straight cat5 cables. I also know you can network them using a crossover cable. My problem is that all I have is a single straight cat5 and no routers. Is there any way to network my two computers together?
 
No, you need a crossover cable. Spend a little money and get a router. It makes it much easier in the end. A good wireless router today isn't but about $45.
 
Dang, networking just isnt on my side this week. Thanks for the help.

Wait, what about USB, can two computers be networked through a single USB cable? Google sais no, but it doesnt hurt to ask!
