Networking card not detected - please help

My netgear card is not being detected and I have no idea why. I can unplug it, put it back in nothing happens, I installed the software and it says "No netgear card detected" when I click on the computer icon for the netgear connection. The green LED comes on which shows it is plugged in and recieving power but there is no connection.

I recently updated the bios for the asus a8n32 sli deluxe motherboard and it seemed to do the trick and the card was working but since I have been having overheating problems i have had to shut the computer down from the mains, remove the processor several times and re-apply thermal compound in different amounts and now it doesnt work again -> even when I try to re-flash the same bios.

This is driving me nuts if anyone could help it would be much appreciated. Thanks
 
drivers are installed, problem is it is not being detected at all - ie as if it wasnt plugged in. Btw whats a linksy? I think the problem is some I/O IRQ conflict thingy I have been searching on the net but dont know how to fix it
