Networking printer

currently have have a desktop and a laptop i want to network to an epson printer. anyone know how to do this?
desktop: windows 7
laptop: vista
router: linksys wrt54gl
printer: Epson workforce 500
the desktop will be connected to the printer

There are a couple ways to approach this. Probably the best would be simply setting the printer up on one computer and sharing.

An alternative would be to purchase a print server or new router with built-in print server. However, I hear these have some incompatibilities with printers. Plus in the case of yours, you wouldn't be able to do anything more than print.

if the printer has a ethernet connection then its easy. but if its USB then you will have to route it through printer settings and give it a IP address. Hope this helps
