networking problem: please help

I have just installed my a wireless router, and I am now trying to network all o my computers and 360. My desktop is connected directly to the wireless router and is operating on Vista. My desktop is where I have all of my important files since it has the largest hard drive.
My laptop is wirelessly connected and is operating on windows 7, and my 360 is wirelessly connected.

So here is my problem: I can access all of my music and my videos from the desktop and laptop with my 360. I can access all of laptop files with my desktop, but my laptop does not recognize my desktop.

I hope all of that made sense. How can I get my laptop to recognize my desktop, so that I can pull files from it?
 
Yeah, file sharing must be enabled on the laptop, the reason the 360 can connect is you already setup media extender and gave permission.
