Networking Vista and XP?

Hey could somebody walk me through setting up a home network between a vista and XP computer? theyre connected by an ethernet cable and im just unsure how to actually set up the network. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Just set folder sharing in vista. Then go onto the xp and go through the network wizard and tell it to use current "local area connection". Thats it!!

if both computers have internet access, just set up the file sharing, dont change any cables.

@Jamus, Gigabit ethernet refers to a connection speed not a wire configuration, and if its wired to a switch then there is no "sorting" of anything. if it is wired to a router, it wont work with a crossover cable.
