so when you share a folder in a network, how come when another computer tries to acces it, they can't, saying that they dont have permissions. Even tho the permissions on the folder are set to ALL?

I had similar problems and the cause of them was Norton Firewall. I bet you have that crap on your computer. If yes, try uninstalling it.

i have similar problem...is there a way in which i can keep norton so it protect my computer and at the same time allow me to acces the shared folder on other computer on my network??

You might have already done this.. but just to make sure:



Run the Network Setup Wizard on ALL the machines you want to be part of your network. Make sure each computer is set up with the same workgroup name ...

go through each section of the setup and make sure everything is correct.


Norton rarely has a problem (Ive been using Norton for years.. and most of the time something else is the root of the problem)
