So I just got a new motherboard and graphics card for my computer. The motherboard is a PC Chips model M871G. I have an Athlon 64 3700+ CPU. The graphics card is a Radeon 9800SE AGP 8x with 256MB memory.
I had a heck of a time getting the mobo up to speed. I had to completely reinstall windows. No fun. But have since installed and updated every driver I could find and all the windows XP upgrades my computer downloaded. I also ran HotCPU Tester Pro on my mobo and it came back saying there are no problems on that front.
So onto the problem. My computer runs fine and seems stable for surfing the web and all. I haven't spent hours and hours putting every single game back on my computer, but I put Call of Duty 2 and Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood on and they both would fire up normally and all, but the computer would lock up completely during the final loading screen before the game started in earnest. I ran COD2 in safe mode and actually got into the game once, but it froze up in less than a minute. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on drivers I should look at (I know I have all the latest RADEON catalyst 5.1 drivers and everything), or if anyone else has had similar problems.
