Ok so I want to build a desktop and I don't really know a whole lot about how I should go about doing it.
I want to buy from newegg.com because they seem like a good site and ive bought from them before.
Here are some parts I seem to like and was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me anyting about them and if my selection would work.

Thanks alot!

I'm willing to spend about $1000 +/-, and I'm going to use it for general gaming/music/amateur graphic design/photoshop/schoolwork/f**kin around.
Basically everything. As you see it will be a big step up from my laptop (specs in sig.)

So will my selection work/be compatible with everything?

look, thanks for the suggestions, but all I'm asking is if my choices will work or if there is a part that is incompatible that I overlooked.

Yea everthing will work. I would not pay that for the Memory, 90 bucks for 5/5/5/15 at 2.1 volts, just because it has that little fan set up. Been building them for 15 years and never had memory overheat and cause problems. That is unless you plan on overclocking the memory to the hilt. But even then I would just spend the money and get better memory.

Thanks for the info guys. You're all a big help, unlike people on other forums. But I really have no experience with ATI. I have a Nvidia in my laptop and it takes soooo much abuse (running for a week strait) and I really never heard about XFX till now, so how good are they?

XFX is One of the largest brands out there, ATI right now has some really nice cards, the brand doesnt matter if it will run a week or a month, alot of people with ati cards run folding@home gpu anytime they are not gaming, and that basically puts full stress on a gpu.

Hmm, well i talked to my friend who has a ATI and he says he likes his 512Mb ATI vs his 864 MB Nvidia. + ill have another AMD designed part in my computer, I think there engineering is great!
Oh, and would my MOBO & Processor use the DDR3 memory in the XFX HD 4850?
