new battery or upgrade ram

I was wondering if it would be best to upgrade my battery from a 4 cell to a 9 cell first or if it would be best to upgrade my ram from 1 gb to 2 gb.

The battery atm lasts me about 2 hours when I use the computer lightly and am in power saver mode, Id like to have greater mobility by not having to depend on my charger so much. In terms of system memory usage, I usually average about 40-50%, a good chunk of that though is being reserved for the video card, but Id like to upgrade from vista to vista ultimate some time soon so the ram needs some upgrading eventually.

Neither upgrade is essential, so whether I do one first or the other wont affect me much, but Id like to upgrade wisely.

ya but if he has 2 512 then he has to get 2 new sticks, ranging from 80-200 (200 is not on sale. the are always so just wait) and yes the battery will last you like 5 hr.

i would definitely go for the ram first. i can sympathize with the 512mb x2 situation...its a pain in the butt and costs more than just simply adding another stick of 1gb. but, for me at least, i think its worth it.

I have 2 x 512mb sticks in there. The battery would cost about 90 shipped and the ram would be about 85ish shipped, so basically the same price for either the ram or the batt.
