I have all the parts except for the motherboard and cpu cooler, which I plan on getting very soon.

I plan on removing the RAM listed above in favor of 8 GB (4 X 2 GB) of the same type of RAM and installing Windows 7 64-bit when it comes out in October (per Microsoft web page) Right now I will be running Windows XP Home 32-bit, which 2 Gigs should do fine in.

I have the Antec case here and have been tinkering with it, I was wondering if anyone else on the forums had put in another 120mm fan in the front of the case to make it 3 fans and use an external cd drive. I've heard in order to do this I would have to first install windows on an internal hooked up directly to the motherboard and then go about with the above because windows wont install on USB, again just what I've heard from a few friends who share the same interests in building computers.

Any thoughts on the build overall, changes, ideas, whatever, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Yea your friends are right that you can't install the OS with an external usb DVD Drive. Just find an old IDE DVD Drive hook it up and install the OS. Thats what i did with mine and everything runs smooth and had no problems. The C2D E8400 is also a good choice, i just did a system for them and it runs 64bit Home Premium no problem so windows 7 should be faster, but i would recommend 4gbs of Ram. Great choice in case, Antec :good:
