my budget is 1500 dollars and i want to get a top of the line pc, so i was thinking about buying these parts.
Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131568
Processor - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103562
Gfx Card - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150108
Hard Drive - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822136003
Memory - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820141427
Case - http://www.xoxide.com/x-ventilator-case-black.html
Those are my choices, i was wondering if anyone had comments or opinions, i want to hear as much about this as i can before i buy, if anyone has anything they would like to replace im happy for the advice but please explain why you like or dislike any of these parts.
P.S. im going to buy the case with a 480 Watt PSU

Rig is good but you need to spend some more money and get more and better memory. Buy at least a gig. Check the ocz gold on newegg. Its about $112. I run it and its awesome.

thx

i was thinking about buying 2 or 4 of those sticks of RAM, so your suggestion for a better kind helps thats what i need to know

-very expencive motherboard,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131540
this one looks good enough...
-upgrade cpu may be to... x2 4200? the price is almost the same... very good deal.

-good choice of video card ---> you will upgrade to sli in the future, right?
-do you really need that massive hard drive? you can get 250 gb for now and, if you need more space,
get one more, and make it 500gb. cheaper that way.

-and get :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145575
2gb ram? might be nice. well I bought almost the same one for $330 can.
this way, you can always upgrade to 4gb, if you ever become a gaming freak.

the hard drive, mobo, and cpu selections above are all good but he doesnt need to spend the money on 2 gigs now. 1 gig will do just fine and when u think u need it and u have the money upgrade to 2.

bigsaucybob ur correct ill get 2 sticks of 512 then
and ur setup is the shit dude how much did that run you in total the processor alone is more than my current comp by 300 dollars.lol
im gonna take ur advice its made the most sense to me so far out of all those posts and ur setup must mean ur rich or you know your stuff
Edit:
can a motherboard support athlon X2 processors even if it doesnt say? like if it says Athlon 64/ Athlon FX supported can it still support X2 ?

Comes to $1424.82
The case you picked is only about $40 so it will fit in the $1500 budget.

The PSU that I picked out will be far superior to the one you can get in your case.
The Video Card I picked out is equal in performance to a 7800GTX so it is also better.
I got the X2 4200+ instead of the 3800+.

Actually bf2 will run poorly on 1 gig of ram and FEAR will run slow. So even now 1 gig is not enough

i run bf2 very nicely on 1gig w/ settings maxed out. 1gig is enough for normal gaming, but of course if you have the money and want the performance, you can get 2 gigs.

What are you saying? I run 1 GB and I am running BF2 and F.E.A.R on max settings with full AA on F.E.A.R without lag...

well keep in mind every other component in your computer...ram isnt always the be all end all factor in how well things perform.

PLUS the fact that 1 gig of memory is not always the same...i dont think they make it, but imagine 1 gig of ram running at 133mhz! 1 gig running at 600 mhz will destroy that!

yea i had one gig of ram 533mhz and i ran bf2 just fine with an x800xl. and just get a nice type of 1 gig now like some corsair xms and then if u feel that u need it in the future u can always upgrade. but paired with a x2 4400 and a 7800gt a gig will be just fine.

corsair xms isn't exactly awesome ram. i would recommend the mushkin redline, ocz vx or crucial ballistix. Also, the ocz el platinum rev. 2 or the ocz eb series are good as well.

ive decided on kingston hyperX RAM, its got a CAS latency of 2 and its timings are 2-3-2-6 they are 60 a piece for a stick of 512 MB
sounds good?
i want them for moderate gaming to help me run flawless games with my geforce 7800 GT

Yes, most motherboards have a bios setup that makes the mobo's support x2's.
