Hi all :), I'm wanting to upgrade my processor to an i7 950, was about to buy corsair (TR3X6G1333C9)6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz XMS3 Memory but noticed I couldn't because the Mhz is too high for the i7 which has a range of 800-1066Mhz. Yet other ppl are using higher e.g 1600+Mhz with the same i7. Could someone clarify whether the Mhz is really an issue. thanks.

looking at buying the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Intel X58 Express 1366 Motherboard, does this have a good rep,any issues?

Any input is appreciated thanks.

Others here are much more knowledgeable, but I can tell you I have that MoBo with an i7-930 with 1600 RAM and it's fine.

High Frequency RAM is usually by default to a more conservative 800 or 1066MHz. i7 will support You can change this by going into the BIOS and changing the memory strap. That motherboard is good, but I'd recommend the Asus P6X58D-E, if you can afford it. Otherwise, the gigabyte board posted is an excellent choice.

Here it says what the i7 900 processors will support up to by default, but again you can change this in the BIOS
