I'm looking at getting a comp from avadirect and here is what I'm looking at--
COMPUCASE (HEC), 6C28 Black/Silver Mid-Tower Case, 585W PSU, ATX
ECS, GeForce6100SM-M (1.0), GeForce 6100, DDR2-800 16GB /2, PCIe x16, SATA RAID /2,
AMD, Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core 4600+ 2.4GHz
KINGSTON, 2GB ValueRAM (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400 DDR2 800MHz
SEAGATE, 250GB Barracuda 7200.10, SATA 3.0 Gbit/s, 7200-RPM, 16MB cache
LITE-ON, LH-20A1L Black/Beige 20x DVD±RW Dual-Layer Burner w/ LightScribe, SATA
SIIG, U-91RW12-S4 Black 1.44MB Floppy + 9-in-1 Card Reader/Writer

I plan on re-using my BFG 8500 gt 256 mb video card(I know it's not the greatest-but I'm not a heavy gamer) and I have a copy of XP pro to install-
Total for this w/shipping is $466.20
I still have a month or 2 before ordering this--just want to get the most for my money.

Are you in the US? I looked at some of the prices on that site and compared them to newegg and you can save quite a bit of money.

Hard Drive
avadirect-$81
Newegg-$65

processor
avadirect-81
newegg-64

there's probably more savings than that. You'll either save money or you can put it toward an even better build for the same price.

Guess what?

If you opt out for a lot of things you don't need (MS Works suite, automatic backup [that's what CDRWs/flash drives are for], a good but not too fast processor and opt out extras that you can buy cheaper (sound cards for instance) you can get a $600 or $800 computer for $400-$600 from companies like Lenovo, Dell, HP, etc... *with a monitor*! The $160 or so Microsoft Works option is standard, for example, and by opting out of it, I get a monitor, basically, for free.

Cheating large companies like this should be unlawful, but it isn't. It just gets on there nerves that some people dismantle their marketing hopes and plans.

I've done a little more looking -but will I need a floppy drive for these items when installing xp pro?

I'm hoping I won't because this case only has 1 external 3.5 bay and then I'd have to give up the card reader-thanks for all your help
