new build freezes

I just finnished a new computer build. I installed windows xp pro. When I try to play Age of Empires II it runs for a while then slows down and freezes. When it does this the only thing I can do is pull the plug cntrl alt del dont even work. heres a list of what is in the computer.

Lead Power 450W ATX Quiet PS
2- 256mb PC2700 Memory RAM modules
SUNSWAY PCI Ultra ATA/133 IDE RAID Controller
ECS PT800CE-A Socket 478 ATX Motherboard w/Sound & LAN
Magnetic Data Technologies 40 GB Gigabyte Hard Drive
western digital 20 gig hd
Spire Socket 478 Heat Sink Fan
PORT USB 2.0 PCI Hub Card / ALI High Speed 480MB
radeon 7500 graphics card
western digital 20 gig hd
que 32x10x40 cdrw
intel celeron 2.70 cpu
Any Ideas?
 
Age of Empires 2? That game is so low requirement how does your computer not handle that? If it was Age of Empires III then I would say it's probably your video card.
 
i dont know it ran fine in my old computer with the same graphics card im just wondering if something is wrong with the build. it runs everything fine until i try that game. Im just confused
 
i was wrong it still freezes but takes longer to do it Im thinking of just replacing it cause it is a little weak being only 32mb looking at a 128 mb card
 
.......if your looking for something descent but not awsomely powerfull, maybe a 7300gs?? or possibly on a high end card, a 7600gt.

a new build? Or did you just throw together a bunch of old parts? Is your computer overheating or something? It shouldn't be the graphics cards fault, as i play AOEII with integrated graphics on my laptop perfectly fine.
 
well semi new some used parts and yes it wasnt the graphics card the 40 gig hd took a dump used my 20 gig and reformatted with windows everything works now
