Ok I connected everything and got nothing.
I turn on the computer and the screen does not turn on.
My mobo beeps every second.

So I disconnected everything but the ATX1 20-pin Power Connector, and the ATX 12V 4 pin power connector.

The same thing happens, it powers up but the screen on my moniter stays off, and it beeps every second.

What do I do.

sounds like a memory issue..if you have 2 sticks of ram remove one or reseat both sticks to make sure they are installed properly

also kind of sounds like you have a graphic card that requires an extra power connector, small possibility, but worth checking.

Not connecting your graphics card's external power will NOT make you motherboard beep, you can still boot up normally but the clock speed is severely restricted.
Consult your motherboard manual to find out exactly what that beep code meant, but most likely its your memory. Take your RAM out and try to reseat it.

I took both RAM out, put one back in, same thing, took both off, same thing.

how much ram do you have? and its a process of elimination. You take both ram sticks out stick one in a rams lot and try to power on if same thing happens then you take that same stick and put it in the other slot try to power on do the same with the other stick.

I untighted the cpu lever and left it loose and the screen turns on now.
Yessssssssssssssssss.

Let me try to see if it works with it tightened.
If it does, let me reconnect everything and update you guys.....

Brb soon tonight.......................................

Ok. Now the screen starts.

Windows won't start.
I get the We're Sorry but windows didn't start normally screen.
It says Start windows, or Start from last known working mode, or safe mode, or safe mode with networking, and so on.........
No matter which on I pick the screen turns blue for half a second and it restarts the computer.............

I got into the BIOS by pressing DELETE upon startup

What do I do in BIOS, Do I have to do anything in BIOS ??????

Let me know
thanks

That hard drive was from my old computer.
I formatted and reinstalled Windows XP SP2 on my old computer.
I wanted to get it ready for my new build.

It doesn't seam to work.

Is it possible to format and reinstall windows in the bios ?
Should I do that ?

Can I install the Drivers in the Bios ?

Let me know, still up, with a headache, trying to get this to work.

Fatal Error.

I can't do it
After I format and install it new,
During the second step of install, where it restarts and starts installing windows, I get a FATAL ERROR message.

Error.
Installation Failed: D:\I386\asms.

One of the components that windows needs to continue setup could not be installed.

The parameter is incorrect.

Now I don't even have a working windows cd ...........

you have tried deleting the existing partition and the going from there, right? remember you have to do it in the new computer, boot from cd....

Yeah I've deleted and reinstalled everything like 10 times.
Never works.
I searched the error on google and its a very popular one.
Almost impossible to fix.

Some of them said you have to disable (during installation only)
Disable hyperthreading, integrated lan, usb, and all sorts of cache.
To try and install again and its possible it could work.

I need a Windows, I should've backed mine up.......
Now I'm stuck in a deep whole with nowhere to go.
