New Build... Help Please

Hello,

I am new to this forum, and I am also new to computer hardware.

I am building a new computer to play games, and I am trying to keep the cost as low as possible.

Here is what I am thinking right now:

This build cost around USD$266 right now.

Unless you plan on overclocking then stock cooling should be fine, I do suggest some Artic Silver 5 Thermal cooling paste. The stock thermal compound that comes installed on the CPU Cooler will work but IMO It sucks.

What do you plan on doing with it?
 
where are you.
what games do you want it to play.
any other special uses.
what do you have right, parts/monitor/keyboard/os/??
what's the amount you want spend.
 
IMO, I wouldn't buy a case and PSU together. I don't know too much about Linkworld but normally the psu's are low quality. And you don't want to cheap out on the PSU because if something does happen to the PSU, it can take other stuff with it.
 
I am from California, USA.
I play MMORPG, some PC games, games that do not require high end graphic card.
I have monitor, OS, keyboard, mouse.
Amount around $250-350.

Search Craigslist, It is risky but can be done. I had to result to that for my cpu unfortunately because I had some more important things that I needed to buy, but needless to say the CPU works great :)

It had some problems with my ram but I got some help and fixed that and all is good now ^.^
 
Thank you for suggestion on the HDD, I will get that one instead. Now I need is a good, value case and PSU. I really dont know what to get for those too, please assist me. Thank you.

Well obviously the answer to that is $0;), but we can't have everything free, it's not a question of how much he wants to spend, it's what he needs to spend to power his system properly :P

The CX430W is a steal at $15 after rebates, it's not as high quality as the CX400W but I can't find that on Newegg, it's still a decent unit that will power your system nicely.
