I have recently built the computer down in my sig, I go to turn it on and the monitor does not read the computer. I have checked everthing twice (cabels ect.) When I turn it on the Dvd/Cd burner makes an aquard noise I have never heard come from a computer before. And it does not open.. Could the part be defective and that be the reason why my computer does not boot up on the monitor? Or is their some other cables and what not I should be checking as well. Thank you.

Edit: I put in a new drive and still no starting on monitor.

I havent gotten any beeps no. I tried turnning the speakers plug over and still no beeps.

I know someone locally that fixes computers I think I will take it to them.
 
Yes the mb is powering on correctly, and so is everything else ie fans lights and what not. I will try powering on with only one stick of ram, I am also going to try unpluggin and repluggin my gfx card in and see if that helps
 
I'm assuming when you built it you checked to make sure all parts are compatiable? It's also possible that there's a short somewhere, or also that if the cables are too old, they could be faulty. Besides the DVD and the monitor, does everything else work fine?
 
Yes, everything from what I can see works fine. And their shouldnt be any compatability questions I did post on here about it and had no questions on that issue. Also I have just put a new Dvd player inside it and that now works, now it is just the monitor... I feel dumb not having it work... And still problem with not getting monitor to work with the computer. ( monitor does work )

Edit: Player is on on master with the jumpers.

Ok so far I have tried starting it without disk driver plugged in, only one stick of ram in every slot there is. (4) Moving the gfx card to make sure it is tight. The mvp card that came with mobo is in tightly. What else can I do?/ try
