This board has a better chipset for $5 more
GIGABYTE GA-MA785GMT-UD2H $89.99

This RAM has better timings, plus heat spreaders for $7 more.
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 $77.99

I would recommend a quality power supply like this.
XCLIO STABLEPOWER 500W $49.99

The hard drive you chose is good for the environment, but not for performance.
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB $59.99

Thats not a better board, its just there updated onboard video board, which he doesnt need. Only has a 5 phase power set up and older style mosfets

The GA MA770T UD3P has a 10 phase power setup and newer Low RDS (on) mosfets

I would go with your pick on the memory/power supply and harddrive which are better.

If your building a system without a video card those 785 chipset boards are kick butt if you need onboard video. Best onboard you can get.

Simply, yes its very much worth it to get a 4850.

i wouldnt really want either of those power supplies.get a real psu,and you wont have any troubles later on.

One more thing. I've read that its possible to OC the Phenom II X3 enough that you unlock a 4th core, essentially making it an X4, can anyone recommend a good enough CPU cooler so that I can unlock that core?

Simply, yes its very much worth it to get a 4850.

+1 the 4850 is one heck of a card I been maxing out new games and still getting 50-100 fps but for some reason I only get 20 on FSX I don't know but for that price you just can't beat it.
