New Build mobo help

Hello all,
I am about to build a computer for all-round performance and some gaming.

I was wondering what the differences are (Besides SLI compatibility) between the Gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3P and the GA-Z97X-SLI.

The HD3P looks basically identical other than the SLI feature (Which is nice, sure, but I don't really plan on using it and if I did it would be in the far future), is this incorrect??

Thanks!

The HD3 is about an inch smaller in width. They have different sound and lan chips. The HD3 has 1 less pci express x 1 slot.
