fixed the problem with my video but now need to get my sound on.its an asus 970 aura motherboard.im trying to use my old speakers for now.they consist of 2 desktop speakers and a sub that connect with one jack.the mb has ac97 as well as hd sound.i went into the bios and enabled the ac97 but to no avail.when i set the speakers as the default audio device i can almost hear something but not quite.this has always been my weakness.if im gonna have a problem it will be sound.let me know if you need further info.thanks.
