Hey so i m looking to get a desktop built.
Mainly used for editing, a bit of gaming, and general school work.
I may want to run dual monitors, and would like to keep that option open.
Canadian Prices. I am on a $800-900. My main concerns are: Will it be easy to upgrade in the near future. Is my power supply sufficient. Am i getting best value for my dollar.
Thanks your input.

Honestly, if you're starting from scratch, you might want to consider going to an Intel board and CPU. It far outperforms AMD now.

The cons are that it might cost a bit more, and the AM2+ socket holds potential for future upgrades, whereas Intel's new line of chips aren't going to work on current mobos. Eh, what am I saying, I'm an AMD man. =)

That being said, people here will tell you not to trust PSUs that are packaged together with a case. Might be OK for the current rig you're looking at, but probably won't be good enough for future upgrades.

Yours: 615.56 before MIR - 65$ in MIRs

This: 622 before MIR - 60$ in MIRs + free ground shipping (big savings here, i hear newegg canada is costly)+ better gfx card + much better PSU with case, but that can be swapped for anything on the site in that price range if you need the side window

could you recommend me a PSU that is separate from the case.
I'm deciding whether or not i should get the two separately or together.
i plan on getting a 1tb external hard drive so i think the 250gb hard drive will do.

Thanks for all your input thus far.

So i decided to go Intel, after a few suggestions. Here's my new intel build. Any suggestions? Thanks for all the help.
Oh, in terms of pricing, i m just gonna go to a local shop and have them price match everything for me. I hope it works.
