new build- opinions?

so i take it ur budget is more than $2000.00....well everything looks spectacular except the case id reccomend a mid or full tower cooler master or something along those lines if u have a high budget. 2 gigs of ram from g skill was a good choice...really pricey processor but if u want results you gotta pay...are u sure u dont want a bigger hard drive? 200GB of hard drive runs out quick now days id reccomend ATLEAST 250GB if not 300....u can get a cheaper power supply than that for way less....that video card is too much for me to even dream about but if you've got the money then why not? well there you have my 2 cents.

Everything is pretty nice exept the hd and the case get some nice raptor 150 and the 74 one if you need that extra plus get some nice full tower case..

I think that that PSU is a ripoff....it may be sturdy and what not, but over $200 for a 510W? Well, at least it's got nice Amps on the +12V.

That GPU makes me drool.

I think you should take some money out of your PSU, and invest it in a more reliable DVD-RW.

You might run in to problems with your case...but if thats what you really really want, go for it.

Nice choice of memory, although you can get the same type of memory (2x 1gb dual channel) from another brand, like Corsair, Crucial, or OCz for less.

Lastly...the HD. It's okay...with your budget though I'd go with something faster, say, a 10,000 RPM drive. I'd also get at least 300gb, if you're going to go for a 10K RPM drive, you're going to have to split it between 2 drives (only the your primary needs to be 10K+ RPM).

Other than that, excellent system, she should perform like a beast :P

You may want to verify with ASUS if their A8N-SLI Premium Mobo can lie flat (horizontally) in the case you selected, due to the Al Cool-Pipe designed to disapate heat away from the chipset. The Cool-Pipe may not work properly in that position.

HELLO!!! computermaineack can you tell me one thing why would he take out the money out of the psu and put it into a drive...

How st*pid is that if the psu goes down then you are busted and his drive is allready good and he needs that good psu

I agree on the case that he needs another one

computermaineack i dont mean to be rude but that is just not a good way to spend money you dont invest in little things the psu is one of the main things

I say go for the X2 4400 and OC it, same cache. (Your PSU/Mobo will give great OCing)

Get either a 10K RPM or atleast a 16MB cache HD.

Get a different case.

I said that because paying $210 for a 510W PSU with 34A@+12V to me is a total ripoff. I'm buying a psu from Newegg, 550W, and dual +12V with 20A on each. And it's only ~$40. A good PSU can be bought for about $100. The DVD-RW that he choose on the other hand is a relatively lower-end model, and instead of getting ripped off on the PSU, I said I'd suggest investing a little more money into a more reliable optical drive.

That case should be fine....when it comes down to cases there isn't much to determine what makes a good case and a bad case....pretty much if it's got the features you want, it's a good case. A side window with side, top, and front fans don't hurt either.

I'm guessing he's talking about the Hipro HP-500W. Note that while each +12V rail is capable of 20A, the total combined output is not 40A, but only 29A. While it's a very nice unit for the price, it's obviously not adequate for a high-end rig like the one that lest32e is building.

yea, that case is sold out. so is the video card.
good specs, except the memory. 2.5 CL at ddr400 is barely enough.
get something with a default CL of 2, or that has ddr500 specs.
good setup though... 7900gt is better for the price, but 7900gtx is definitely a better card no doubt about that.
