New Build Revised

I've continued to read thru many posts and forums and still need a little help. I've narrowed down my search and I'm in need of some expert advice. Here is what I have so far, and NE stands for newegg. Here's my dilema I'd like the Q9550 but the price hasn't dropped yet so do you think I should go with the Q6600 for best value? As for the power supplies I've listed does anyone have a good input on what would be the best, I'm leaning towards the OCZ. Now to the Video card/s this is huge. I've seen excellent reviews on the 512, but terrible reviews on the 1 gb. I'm now also considering 2 512mb cards and SLIing them, but then the Mobo I picked out wouldn't support. What do you guys think of crossfire? I'm reading that $ for $ and part for part that SLIing is faster and cheaper? As to the hard drives I don't think there is going to be a big difference between the two, what do you guys think? And last the OS, I've narrowed it down to these specific OS becasue of the reviews I've read. Thanks in advance for all the help. Oh and I plan to start ordering this stuff by the end of the month, or should I just wait until the first week in July or do you think the price of processors won't go down until Aug. I guess I can wait, I'm just getting anxious. I plan on using this for my buisness (word/excel), little gaming (old school CS Source), internet surfing, and that's about it.....

I would wait till prices drop.Get the Q 9450,it will go down very soon in price. If you get the Q6600 you will be good for a while. But consider this for an extra 60 bucks or so,and keep in mind i say this when prices drop you can get a CPU that has a higher clock speed, higher FSB,and higher cache. Not only that but it's 45nm less power consumption, and better for OC.If you can't wait then get the Q6600,since you say you will do a little gaming. If you will do a lot of gaming then get the E8400,or the Q9450.

1GB of VRAM? What's the use of that? Unless you're going to be using a 50" TV as a monitor...

Doesn't have good reviews either. So I was thinking of 2-512 cards and sling them.... I have a 22" Viewsonic and was thinking of changing to a LG or samsung 22" or 24" 2 MS response.

Because the 512MB Video cards are coming down in price I can get a Asus GT8800 for $129.90 should I get two and SLI them or would this be overkill? Also if I SLI them what would be a good Mobo for around $200.00 that has SLI capabilities? I was looking at the new Asus P5Q delux, but this uses crossfire, should I buy a crossfire video cared instead?

Thanks

Personally, I think you should wait. The price of processors is going down Q3 of this year, which means around September.

I think you could also do well with one 512mb card for what you're planning on doing. SLI/Crossfireing would only add to the expense.
