New Build + Server

Hi Lads,

Any comments much appreciated as im a bit uncertain with this build :)

I'll be turning my current machine(in sig) into a home server and building a new gaming machine..

Ill be using ple.com.au as its around the corner the total atm is $1103

So ill be using 2x HDD in the server and taking the 750GB HDD form my current machine and using it for this build, I have a 560ti spare that ill be using.

Any thoughts lads?

Unless you're doing other things then gaming the Intel Core i5 2500k is perfect and $100 less. As for the memory, the G.SKILL memory is cheaper but they've had problems before so I suggest gettin some Corsair Vengeance RAM.

Ill swap in the xfx psu!, i think the price is about the same its because your comparing pound to Australian dollar?

All I will be using it for is gaming, I realise now 2500k vs 2600k for gaming is very similiar. Down the track the hyperthreading may be utilised in gaming? or am i wrong?

it will be a good few years before games use over 4 cores, and probably another few before it become mainstreme. onle fsx uses more than 4, most big titles can use 4, but there are still a ton of games today that only use 2 cores.
