ok so my friend is buying a new system and has AU$1400 to spend.

he wants to buy from a local store so he can just take it back there if he runs into problems. im just wondering if anyone could make a cheaper build that would be just as good. or better ;)

anyway heres what he's getting.

Case: Delux MG468 = $45
PSU: Delux 550W = $80
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L = $150
CPU: E6750 = $276
Hardrive: 250GB SATA 2 = $100
RAM: 2GB DDR2 800mhz = $80
Graphics: HD3850 256mb = $250
CD/DVD Drive: Pioneer 16x SATA Dual Layer = $54
Monitor: Asus 19” Widescreen = $299
Mouse & Keyboard: Microsoft Value Pack = $45
Modem: 56k = $25
Assembly = $40
Total = $1450

ok so thats it...

i would prefer it to be on www.centrecom.com.au

but any other aussie site is fine.
centrecom has a good easy custom system bit that makes it easy to pick parts and price it.

yeah if he ordered it online i would have got the 8200... didnt look at the 8400.

the optical drive is like standard price... and normal dvd writing speed is like 18x isnt it? so 16x isnt that slow

yes he has dialup
 
tell him you will be his tech support. tell him to pay you instead of the other guys. say you give him 10 percent discount.
