New Build: Two Questions

I am building a new system for my mom to replace her current one that is 8+ years old and sporadically failing. Both my mom and dad have their own respective online businesses and they are very dependent on their PC.

She needs it to do the following every day: MS Office, email (mostly for business), some internet surfacing and a ton of pictures to be uploaded and downloaded for both businesses; maybe some online streaming but that is about it.

Due to budget constraints - every dollar counts - I have decided to go AMD (I have built systems using both AMD and Intel) which will serve her fine and will be a vast improvement over her current system. Since there is no need for a graphics card I believe the AMD is the better choice APU wise.

Anyway, I originally was going to go with this cpu because it is a Quad Core and it has the L2 4 MB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113288

But then I began wondering if a Dual Core would be better due to cost and that it might fit her needs just fine and so I have looked into: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113282

The thing is she really doesn't need the Black Edition because there will be no overclocking but the price is great. Two others I looked at are:

* The only thing that I don't like about the last 3 is that the L2 Cache is only 1 MB.

So my first question is, in light of the information what would you choose and why and how significant of an impact will the L2 Cache at 1 MB have?

The other question I have concerns hard drives. Right now NewEgg has both their Blue and Black 1 TB hard drives on sale. Now I know the Black series has a 5 year warranty as compared to the 2 years for the Blue. I know that the Black series is a better build quality but many have had success with their Blue.

In your opinion, go with the Black or will the Blue more than suffice?

I need to pull the trigger today because I have coupons to go along with sale items which will expire at 12 midnight.

Thanks; I get good advice from these forums.

Honestly... you could build her one but I'd just buy one off the shelf because her needs are not very demanding. You would probably get better value for money that way.

Thanks for the reply. Right now I have the build down to $542.00 and this doesn't include the three coupons that I can apply which will bring it down to $516.00. If I go with the WD Blue hard drive I'll bring it to just under $500.

I get free shipping on all items and the only thing I have to add in is the tax.

What are the full parts, for a media computer, it shouldnt cost that much, just go with the black edition, I don't over clock, but I got it. Also, what ram are you using? 4 gigs is more than enough
