Ok, I put together my new PC, installed Windows and all, and started installing software no problem. Then, when I was prompted to restart my PC, I shut down completely. Then, when I go to turn it back on, everything goes on fine, fans, HSF, LED's, Cold Cathodes, etc. Nothing however shows up on my monitor......... it just remains blank. Everything is plugged in properly and I have no idea what could be causing this..... please help...:(

are you sure that the video card is seated correctly? Is the hard drive spinning up and activity light on like its booting up?

try reseating the videocard again and check to see if the powersupply is set to 115 volts and not 220. and check to see if your monitor cable is hooked up to it securly.

Yes my PSU is set at 115 and yes my monitor cable is in there securly.... i suspect an issue with the mobo shorting itself out... i will check.

ya did you make sure that its not touching any metal at all?

Uh huh, just took out everything and put it back in, made sure nothing was touching..... still doesnt work... my DVD drive is also acting weird during startup, the light on it flashes really fast and then just one long steady flash, and thn starts flashing really quickly again. It makes a weird noise too and the drive wont open. wtf is wrong!! Today im gonna try my old motherboard see if that is the problem.

ya it may be a faulty motherboard. unhook your dvd drive to see if it boots up without it it may be that to.

From what your saying it sounds like a motherboard problem, and i've heard of some bad things with crossfire boards.

Yes you are all right, my mobo is dead. I replaced it with my old PCI-E mobo (will still be able to run the beast of a gfx. card) and it now works fine. I dont know why it died, it just did. So for now I will have to settle for 1GB or RAM instead of 2 because my old mobo only has 2 RAM slots.... o well. BTW- Here is my old mobo (it will support my Dual core X2 withnout flashing the BIOS right???):

I cant wait to run games :D :D

Wow, you should have gotten higher than that :o

RedRider = Red / Skidude = Blue

3DMark03- 17644/16998
3DMark05- 9492/9565
3DMark06- 4054/4369

Hopefully your score goes up alot when you OC.

Redrider has his stuff OC'ed to their limits... mine were running stock.

BTW- My processor seems to be running way slower than it should, it took almost 6 mintues to load Quake 4, only for it to crash to the desktop with no error message...
