i posted before but have since updated some parts

ok in about 2 weeks i am going to be buying a new computer, i will be using this for gaming and video editing along with photoshop and after effects.

Cohen, I hope you realise that the 9950 Phenom he picked actually outperforms the Q6600 you linked, and for a little less money. Not to mention that the CPU he chose is a Black Edition CPU, making OCing quite ridiculosuly easy, whereas the Q6600 has got an uplocked multiplier.

@OP - The CPU you picked is just fine. I would definitely go for it; it outperforms the Q6600 Cohen here just linked, and as I said, it's Black Edition so it'll be really easy to get into OCing if you want to try it. I would definitely stick to the Phenom (at that price, it's really hard to match the price/performance ratio).
