New Build

I posted on here awhile back with a request for a build, but ran out of funds. I've got $1000 to spend. Can someone recommend the best bang for the buck computer for that price. My biggests concerns are: I want it to be fast, and I don't need a huge HD, but I want it to be fast. I do some gaming, but the games I play aren't too taxing. I have a monitor and speakers.
I'm not interested in SLI or Xfire. Although, I was thinking of using an 4850 video card.
Thanks.

That's right in line with what I'm wanting, except I only want one 4850 and I need a good bang for the buck motherboard. I prefer Gigabyte. thanks for the response.

get the 4870, no X2, and you saved 200 bucks. Get the E8400, save 100 bucks. That brings you down to 1139. Cheaper case, save 39 :D thts 1100. Get a PSU for 80 bucks instead, you know, maybe a good 600W, thats 1060. So that's pretty close. Wait amonth, and your good. oh and get a smaller/different HD, one that costs maybe 60 and your down to 1040!
