I finally finished building my new computer.

Diablotek PHD550 550w ATX Black PSU
Sony Optiarc 24X DVDRW SATA
Gigabyte MA74GM-S2 AMD 740 Socket AM2+ Motherboard
AMD Athlon X2 7850 Black Edition AM2 OEM CPU
HIRO 56K Data Fax Modem, V.92, PnP, PCI
EVGA GeForce 9600 GSO 768MB DDR2 PCIe w/DVI & VGA
Sabrent 6-CH 5.1 Surround Sound 3d PCI Sound Card
Corsair XMS 4096MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz (2x2048MB)
Seagate 500GB Serial ATA HD 7200/16MB/SATA-6G

It's running great, now to plan the next :D

I bet it does run great. Why did you stick with only a 500 GB SATA though. You can get 1TB drives for next to nothing now. All iin all though I say Great build. I can not wait to see what you do with your second build. I am currently on my 5th build..yeah I am hooked

I got the 500GB on sale really cheap and I mostly use external hard drives since my internal hard drives blow pretty quickly. This one is basiclly my practice system, poor thing, :P

Ahh I see yeah I have a 2Tb external that I use for almost everything plus I have 25GB's worth of flash drive space (distributed between 5 drives) that I carry on me at all times

When you upgrade anything, do the power supply. Diablotek is a pretty lowend built supply. Stick with Antec/Corsair/XFX/Seasonic/PC P&C/Silverstone

You must have a lot of dough lol. Have fun :D

Actually I'm pretty broke, I've been buying parts for this system since September and I'm still paying some of them off. I try to buy the parts when they're on sale or have large rebates so it takes me about six or more months to buy the parts for one computer, :(. Besides I need the practice in building systems.

Im using e-bay and other discount places and i am able to get parts for $10-$20 each.
I think my build will end up being alot less than $200 total.
