Hey all

I am building my new rig and I wanted some feed back on my parts. My pc will be primarily used for gaming and recording music. I play counter strike go, league of legends, and i'd like to run a super smash melee emulator. My recording software is protools 10. My budget is about a grand.. I went a little over on this current configuration, but that shouldn't be a problem. Let me know what y'all think. As always thank you for all you help.

Looks like an awesome build!

I made a few changes to the build which can be seen in this list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/VqYhTW

  • Removed CPU cooler
  • RAM is faster, for less money
  • Swapped case for Corsair 200R (your choice is still very good)
I also changed your operating system to Windows 8.1 and yes, it's compatible with your software. :)
 
If you're talkin about less expensive, then the NZXT Source 210 Elite will be perfect. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/nzxt-case-s210e001

I almost got this case before I found out about the Corsair 200R.

EDIT: You'll have to remove the drive cage for your GPU to fit in the Source 210. The 200R has enough space.

I would still get a cpu cooler to give you more room on temps and allow you to overclock. I would also get a better case, corsair 300r minimum, but something like an nzxt h440, corsair 400-500r, 450d, 600t etc if possible. The 200r is quite small and doesn't allow much cable management. As your buying good high quality parts don't buy a cheap small case, last thing you want is everything cramped. Don't forget it's a 1k build so you want it TO look like a 1k build.
