I installed my new video card yesterday, but after awhile of being on my computer, my screen all of a sudden gets screwed up. The screen gets all blochy and choppy, and the cursor turns into a red square. I have to restart my comptuer in order to fix it. It does this on both my primary and secondary monitor, so I know its something with the computer. Help please. Thanks

someone please help....

my monitor keeps periodically going nuts. I get a red flickering screen with a red box as around my cursor. I have to restart to get rid of it.

I apologize for being dumb, but was exactly are the "specs" you are looking for. I'm not very good with computers, as you can tell. Can you explain to me how to get the specs that you are looking for? My computer gets a red, flickering, blochy screen with a red box around my cursor. IT does this on BOTH primary and secondary monitor and I have to restart my computer to fix it. It does this after a period of time, just randomly. Your help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Well first what graphics card / drivers are you using !
and put down the pc details cpu, mobo, RAM, etc...

but by the sounds of it you might have some bad graphics card drivers installed !.

try updating them by going to the graphics cards website !!!

.....

The graphics card is an ATI Radeon 7000 64 MB AGP Video card. Another number I saw on there was N10488. My PC is a sony vio PCV-RX540 with a 1.20 GHz Intel Celeron Processer, 256 MB PC-133 SDRAM, windows XP. It is a few years old. I have no idea what drivers I am running, or how I find out. I do konw that it seems the more I have used my computer since installing the video card, that the more frequently I am having a problem. I hope this information can help you determine how to help me out. Let me know if you need any other details, and how to figure out what driver I am running.

I went and I THINK I updated my drivers. I'm not sure if I downloaded the correct thing. Since I downloaded whatever I did, my computer actually didn't act up for about 4 hours, but all of a sudden went "wack" again.
