Evga 8800 ultra or Sapphire Radeon HD 2900XT 512MB PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDMI, HDTV-Out

You know this really depends on what games you play and screen reselaution.

If your screen is 19inch 1280X1024 theres no really point in getting an ultra. If it's 1280X1024 or lower get the HD 2900XT 512mb. If your monitor is higher than 1280X1024 then get an ultra E.G 1680X1050

Or If you have 2 monitors that are 1280X1024 get an ultra because it has to give preformance to both monitors. If lower still get an HD 2900XT 512mb E.G 2X 1024X768 monitors

Then about the games:

I play sims 2 and tomb raider. Sims 2 Dosen't require an ULTRA but Tomb Raider will Soon lend up DX10 And I'll need the ultra to make me more future proof even though theres an HD 2900XT I wont be upgrading for 5-6 years.

But what ever you do Do not get a 320mb 8800GTS. The 320mb gives off slow preformance so if you are getting a GTS get a 640 or Get 2 8600GTS 512mb and run SLI

The reason one buys a card that surpasses their needs now, is that it will be perfect for later, and adequate farther on down the road. But it is a bit uneconomical..

The most recent 320Mb vs. 640Mb actually show them neck and neck even in the highest of resolutions. We were incorrect in saying that the memory allows higher resolution as that's not true. The extra memory can increase performance when using AA and AS at those resolutions though.
