New case & Components

Putting together my new system and have a couple questions. The case (raidmax smilodon) has numerous fans but there was 1 spot on right side for an additional fan close to the hds mtg area; if installing a fan here should it blow across the hds or pulling out the air. Also the ma770 ds3 makes ref to a northbridge fan plug/socket for n bridge fan but there is one mtd on the case in direct line with the cpu/n bridge that is also pulling out the air, would that be ok since it don't plug into the n.brigde fan socket. Currently there are 3ea 80mm and 2ea 120mm fans plus a 120mm on the psu, is this enough. One last item, if u start the pc before u install the os should it make post sound or not, thanks.

Normally front and side fans blow air into the case. Top and rear fans suck air out of the case.

Your motherboard should POST regardless of whether the OS is installed or not. If there is no beep sound then check that that there is a speaker connected to the board. Some you have to connect to an external speaker inside the case, some have a small speaker that you push onto pins on the motherboard and some have a speaker fixed to the board.

I got all the speaker wires that were on the case hooked to the board but did not hear the post or maybe I just wasn't paying attention when I turned it on. Don't have my vid card and just wanted to make sure it would boot up after connecting everything I had since the colors listed in case guide were not what actually was there and the speaker wire was connected to the front spk port and not the header speaker port based on the connector type. Will try another boot and listen this time, thanks. Hoping reddevil6 can shed some lite on this board since he has same under his signature.

Ok, it don't beep cause the cse has no speakers on it; has anyone seen cases that have no speakers and do u just mount a little one anywhere, thanks.............Got speaker installed and it posted
