The ide cable is a bitch i know. I just cant justify spending 20 quid on a new drive just for aesthetics.

Looks good and you did a nice job, But you might want to change that case with a top mount PSU, I have built allot of computers and the one's with the bottom mount PSU don't last , The PSU seems to burn out faster because everything drops into the bottom fan..

Looks pretty good. Need to do something with that IDE cable. Maybe do some folds in it and get from showing so much. Other then that pretty good.

No basis of reality, senseless post. Please dont try to justify it.

Huh? Having the PSU mounted at the bottom of the case is usually a better idea. Usually the quality cases always have them mounted at the bottom. If you mount the PSU so it is taking air from directly underneath the case, nothing should fall into it.

Looks good Mike, you need to get yourself a SATA optical drive one day though, IDE looks so messy! If you mounted the drive a bit lower you may be able to put the IDE cable through some of those cable management holes.

Yeh im gonna leave it like that until i can aford a sata disk drive.

I cant see it through the window so im fairly happy :D

Now i need to upgrade to modern parts :D

Same feelings as spirit here towards bottom mounted psus.

My old case was bought with all parts in it already as i bought used. The person said it was built in like 2007-2008. My psu only blew a ocuple of month ago so id say that it had a fairly long life span considering she never cleaned the thing :P

Plus its much easier imo when theyre on the bottom.

Cable management is nearly always better and easier to do when the PSU is mounted at the bottom of the case.

Well, im hoping to be taken oin properly at work soon (on a shity apprenticeship atm) so if that happens, i want at least a gtx 660ti and i5 something or other :P Not going for amd again.

Needs a new hdd preferably 2tb and wouldnt mind an ssd :P But that is a distant dream haha.

So next on my list is a gpu upgrade because thats whats holding me back in most games. Gunna start saving and get the 660ti i hope.

Yeah too right haha. Ill get atleast 50-70 for my current gpu i hope. (50 on a bad day 70 on "im a lucky SoB" day)

I think the 660tis are like 200-250 so by the time i can afford it i suspect theyll be a bit lower :P

Tbh i may even just shoot for a 570 or 580 Still hold up well and not the worst of cards.

Only limiting factor I can see about the 570 is the RAM, only 1.25GB. Mind you, that being said, my 5870 only has 1GB and I play games maxxed out at 1080p with no problems.

Yeah that may be a problem especially with recent games like max payne that need something daft like 3gb of vram to fully max out.

Then again im not too bothered about maxing, i would just like an upgrade over my current gpu :P

Bit gutted though as i forgot to plus in power button so though my pc was f'd when trying to turn it on. So i reset cmos hpoing that would do something and then lost my OC.

Girlfriend eventually pointed out my error :P

Haha :D The other classic is switching off the switch on the back of the PSU and then wondering why the PC won't power up. ;)

A 570 or a 580 would be a big upgrade over a 6850. What res do you play at?

1GB should easily be enough for that res, but depending on what res you're anticipating on upgrading to, it may not be.

1GB is plenty for that resolution. It is what I play at, and really you can max most things on a 512Mb card (4870 for example). My 480 has yet to break a sweat (minus folding) and has not broke 1GB ever, even in BF3 maxxed out.

You tool? Hot air rises, and when top-mounted, PSU fans tend to aim downwards, essentially taking in and/or blowing heat onto the components which then rises back up straight into the PSU fan. It's not massively a problem, but a bottom mounted PSU with the right cooling can knock 2-digit numbers off your temps

Cable management is nearly always better and easier to do when the PSU is mounted at the bottom of the case.

My next case will hopefully have a bottom mounted PSU space :D
