New case for new build, opinions....

Okay, I am gonna start building this slow, do you guys think the P35 chipset's price will go down on July 22nd as well? I'm wanting the DS3R but, this is about the case.

Options:

(1) I could order the Antec 900 off of Fry's for $90
(2) I could get the Thermaltake Soprano for $75
(3) I can get the Cooler Master Centurion 5 for $50

I will go ~$90 on a case, any other suggestions are welcome, don't suggest Apevia.

Thanks

it might be "budget" but it looks great, is made by a company with a great rep, it has a 120mm fan, and it has front I/O ports, cant go wrong!

I am more than likely going to get that, I have used the Centurion 541 for mATX builds for a business office. I liked them, I noticed nothing about them that was bad. I won't buy another Apevia case, they are sturdy but the internal mounting parts aren't machined well. I was working on the tool-less 5.25's and the 'lip' of the metal must not have been rolled up fully and it was sharp, cut my thumb on it.

lol crazy...I initially was choosing between the centurion and the antec for my new build...I chose the antec 900 from frys for the amazing cooling it has...next build is gonna have an 8800gts and a quad core, so if you're as worried about heat, go with it.

agh crap, I just looked at the antec 900 pic on newegg...It has those two obnoxious blue lights in front..does anybody know a way to disable the light?

Is it a fan light? I am going with an E6850 and an 8950GT or 8950GX2:D

I doubt you can turn the lights off, they're two 120mm blue LED fans, so they're built in, like Cleric7x9 suggested, you could put tape over them, but it wouldn't cover them completeley.

I just bought a Coolermaster Mystique case and I love it.

Very solid case and extremely easy to build in. You can literally mount the HDD rails and install the HDD's in less than 15 seconds. The DVD drive install was a matter of sliding the drive in, then sliding the lock forward inside the case. The two installed case fans are very quiet, I almost can't hear them from 3 feet away. One of the best parts - there is a locking toolless bar that clamps all of your expansion cards in. You don't even have to screw your graphics card down.

The only time I used a screwdriver with this board was to secure the mobo to the risers and to install the PS.

Maybe all cases are this easy. My previous experience has been with a no-name case, a Chieftec Dragon full tower, and an Antec Sonata. The Coolermaster blows them all away in every way.

Coolermaster ftw!

Coolermaster ftw!

That was another one of my choices, but I couldn't find any information that suggests that this case had very good cooling in it so i'm going with the antec 900

Also, this may seem a bit off topic, but should i go with a core 2 quad at 2.4 or the e6850 if i don't plan on overclocking. Also, do you think i should wait past july 22nd to buy because you've just brought this '8950' to my attention 0_0.

there is another thread that has a poll going between the quad and the duo and most people seem to be voting for the quad
