New Case

I started researching for a new build, I plan on putting something together before year end. My first item on the list was a case and I wanted to see in person and be able to touch and feel...... I came up with some of the following case choice for those looking. Now take it cases are completely in the eye of the beholder and some might not be for you application. Also I went to a couple of places so they didn't have every case available or out so I could see all of them.

All pricing in U.S. and the price stated was what the stores were selling at;

Value Line (Good) under 50.00
Note these had grey color inside and back.

Antec 300 54.99/ 44.99 MIR

CM Elite 371 44.99

CM 912 54.99

Standard Case (Better) under 100.00
Note these were all black.

CM Storm Enforcer 79.99

CM 690 II 89.99

Corsair Carbine 400R 99.99

Best under 150.00

Corsair 600T 147.99

I've had a few Antec cases, I currently have a Antec 900 and CM Storm Scout. These are purely my opinion and again I didn't get to see every case out there including the Lian Li cases which I'm being told are very nice. Please add or comment to this thread as you see fit, espeially if you have first hand knowledge of a particular case. I'm really liking the new Corsair Carbine 400R, it grabbed me. I think this is the case I'll be going with, unless a sale comes buy...

My friends and I don't go cheap on our computer parts, and my buddy bought the Corsair 600T. He bought the white version, and It. Was. Awesome. to work with. The CPU cooler installation went flawless with the CPU cutout, and the cable management was very clean! Highly recommended. Now he has me wanting to upgrade from my Antec 1200. Oh, and it also has full tower capabilities!

Yeah I really liked the the 600T, but for some reason the Carbine 400 caught my eye. The case is still new, so not alot of places around me are carrying it yet.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the 400R. It has a CPU cutout, cable management behind the MB, efficient cooling options, and it looks good.

From personal experience I would choose the 600T. If I had no experience with any of the cases, I would decide between the 400R, 500R, and 600T.

In the end, I would choose the 500R (two tone white/black) and buy it from Corsairs' site, because it is $10 cheaper than Newegg (did I just say that!?), it has the sleek streamlined look that I am looking for, the design of the case is flawless, built-in support for a CPU Water Cooled radiator on top of the case (the mesh? piece is removable on top of case), removable air filters, the cable management looks great from a few pics on newegg, and it doesn't cost too much.

Edit: Well, the Carbide 500R isn't even out yet. Apparently, you can pre-order on Newegg.. Haha. After further review and many comparison's of the case, I am actually going to buy that case to replace my Twelve Hundred. I am starting upgrade process myself, so this was good timing. Thanks for the thread! lol.

Hope this helps a little!

Awesome, this is why I started this thread for ppl looking at cases. I wasn't even aware of the 500. I'll have to give it a look.

Thanks

Just wanted to give an update that I bought the Carbide 500R on the 20th (Tuesday), and I received it today. It is at home right now! I just need to get off of work! DFS!

I might post some pics in another thread or something. I guess maybe a little review.. I don't know.. I never did a review before :o

Edit: I made a review thread for the 500R here: http://www.computerforum.com/201606-review-new-arrival-corsair-carbide-500r.html
