New Combo Burner, but I need help...

I am basically looking to buy this:

LITE-ON Black 16X DVD-ROM 52X CD-R 32X CD-RW 52X CD-ROM 2MB Cache IDE Combo

However, I am not sure if that is compatable with my system and I forget how you can tell. I would list what my motherboard is but I forget where I find the listing of the information and it doesn't seem to be listed in my device manager. I know it is a SATA. But other than that I don't remember what else about it. I am basically wondering (once I figure out how to tell you what my motherboard is) is if this LITE-ON Black 16X DVD-ROM 52X CD-R 32X CD-RW 52X CD-ROM 2MB Cache IDE Combo is capable of being used with my computer.

yeh most likely it will as most boards have ide ports on them even if they have sata!

ide is just the ribbons that come out of the slot on your motherboard-they will have ide1 and ide2 written above them-one blue and one black

Why don't you just buy a dvd burner? About the same price and plus the dvd burner can do everything that combo drive can do.

Ok how is this one then? LG Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R DL 22X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache IDE 22X DVD±R DVD Burner - OEM

That burns DVD's Audio CD's and Data for PDF's and Scanned Drawing images right?

Any DVD burner should work for you as long as you make sure you know which interface you need, SATA or IDE. I prefer Lite-on drives, but to each his own. Are you buying from Newegg.com? I highly recommend it.
