Yeah I would definitely go with the i7 with that money but I would get two saphire radeon hd 4870x2

They are $429.99 each but there is 4gb of gddr5 and in my opinion the 4870 is better

Superb, except buying a single GTX295 will save a couple hundred bucks.
It's got 2 gpu's anyway, with almost double the onboard RAM.
Check the specs. They're ridiculous. (in a good way)

If you gotta have SLI, get two GTX260's.

I believe that you were looking for something from that site because you need it in Australian Dollars, correct? If so, the only thing I might change would be the PSU, go for the Antec TruePower (TP) 750W power supply 6 lines up on the supply part sheet for $50 more. I know it's more money, but that PSU is going to be much better, and you definitely don't want to skimp on the PSU, especially with that many parts that require a lot of power.

Oh, sorry about the American links. The products still stand though.

Btw, that PSU is sweet! I wish I'd gotten that one...

True those parts would be a very nice system, the problem is that those parts would add up to well more that $2500 Aussie Dollars; especially with the ridiculous mark-up that Australia has to deal with on technology, beyond just the conversion rate... :)
